Getting to know Motueka Counselling
Welcome to a space where your journey towards healing and understanding begins. Here, you'll learn about my commitment to providing a supportive and grounded counselling experience.

Why I'm here for you
I got into counselling because I care about people having a space where they don’t have to pretend they’re okay. What I love most is seeing someone slowly feel steadier and less alone with what they’re carrying. It matters to me to offer a calm, grounded place where people can make sense of things at their own pace.

What you can expect from our work together
I am an NZAC-registered counsellor and have specialised in working with people impacted by trauma and abuse since 2009. My approach draws from Person-Centred, Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive modalities, grounded in a commitment to ethical and empathetic practice. In 2019, I established my private practice in the Tasman region, where I continue to support individuals on their journey toward healing and empowerment.

My hope for you
I hope people walk away with a sense that I’m someone who will meet them gently, take them seriously, and stay steady alongside them. I want them to feel that they don’t have to have everything figured out before they come in — that it’s okay to be overwhelmed, unsure, or struggling. My aim is for people to feel reassured that they’ll be met with warmth, clarity, and a pace that feels safe and manageable.
"Finding a space where I felt truly heard and understood made all the difference. Lisa provided the gentle, steady support I needed to navigate my challenges."
